Huntington University Arizona students in Peoria earned 17 nominations in the Rocky Mountain Emmy Student Production Awards.
The university competed against students from the likes of Arizona State University, the University of Arizona, Utah State University and Brigham Young University. Huntington’s 17 nods were second most in the region.
“Between our film and animation programs we have just over 100 students,” Phil Wilson, Huntington’s digital media arts program director and assistant professor of film, shared in a press release. “To see HU Arizona take the second most nominations in the Southwest region is just a testament to the hard work of our students and the rigor of our programs.”
The Rocky Mountain Emmy Student Production Awards, organized by the Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, represent recognition for emerging media professionals. This year's awards ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 9, will bring together young talents, industry veterans and judges to celebrate outstanding achievements in various categories.
