SINGING VALENTINES
Posted
Originating in September 1976 with just eight men wanting to sing four-part harmony, the group grew over the years to its present 55 members with the title of Desert Aires Barbershop Chorus.
Buy a sweetheart a singing Valentine
Many individuals, groups, and organizations celebrate Feb. 14 as a day for expressing love for spouses and/or sweethearts. The Barbershop Harmony Society, an international organization known for its a cappella four-part harmony singing, devoted many of their quartets to singing Valentines from and to those spouses and/or sweethearts for many years.
The Desert Aires Men’s A Cappella Chorus will again offer this service Sunday through Wednesday, Feb. 11-14. One of its several quartets will go to a home, office, care facility with a local address to sing two love songs, present the loved one with a rose, a Valentine’s card, and in some cases, a photo of the event for $40.
What: Desert Aires Men’s a cappella Chorus offering Valentine’s songs
When: Available Sunday through Wednesday, Feb. 11-14
