Longtime Valley of the Sun United Way board member and Women United Steering Committee member Jenny Holsman Tetreault has been named vice chair of United Way Worldwide’s Women United Global Leadership Council.
The philanthropic group features more than 55,000 women in over 200 communities around the globe dedicated to creating lasting change that lifts up communities.
“We’re so incredibly appreciative of Jenny’s ongoing service to United Way and our local community,” says Carla Vargas Jasa, Valley of the Sun United Way president and CEO, shared in a news release. “Her commitment to improving communities and the lives of others is unsurpassed and we are grateful for her continued service with Valley of the Sun United Way and look forward to the impact she will have at a global scale.”
The Women United Global Leadership Council serves as an advisory body providing strategic recommendations to United Way Worldwide as well as a key mobilizer engaging women leaders to advance gender equity and advocate for access to quality, affordable, educational childcare.
The group also supports the growth of Women United globally.
“We are grateful to work with a strategic group of connectors and advocates who are advancing important issues related to education, health and economic mobility,” Angela F. Williams, United Way Worldwide president and CEO, shared in a statement. “These women are powerful forces for good who are modeling philanthropy in communities that United Way serves, making the places where they live and work stronger.”
Currently serving as the past board chair of Valley of the Sun United Way’s board of directors and co-chair of the nonprofit’s endowment campaign, Holsman Tetreault has been a supporter of United Way for decades and will continue her United Way involvement in service to the children, families and individuals of Maricopa County.
She has served on Valley of the Sun United Way’s board of directors for more than seven years and held a variety of volunteer roles for the local United Way, including co-chair of the Women United Steering Committee, co-chair of Generation United and co-chair of the organization’s Community Development Committee.
Holsman Tetreault is also vice president and associate general counsel for TPI Composites, a global wind-blade manufacturer with locations throughout the United States, Europe, China, India and Mexico. She also serves on boards and committees for community organizations, including the Herberger Theater, Charter 100, Teach for America, the Girl Scouts’ Arizona Cactus-Pine Council, Ballet Arizona, the YMCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona, The Nature Conservancy, Community Legal Services, the Phoenix Symphony, March of Dimes, New Pathways for Youth, the Arizona Opera, Junior League of Phoenix, Arizona State University’s President’s Club and ASU Women & Philanthropy, and the Phoenix Library Foundation.
Holsman Tetreault was named a 2021 Corporate Organization Advocate of the Year by the Phoenix Business Journal, one of the 2020 Most Influential Women in Business by AzBusiness Magazine, was a 2018 Spirit of Philanthropy recipient by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and was recognized as one of the 2017 Top 10 National Attorneys Under 40 by the Association of Corporate Counsel.
