Chandler Police: 2 'good samaritans' sought in assault investigation

Posted

Chandler Police want to speak with two people it's calling "good samaritans" who helped an alleged assault victim over the weekend.

In a news release, police said they seek the public's help in identifying two people who aided a female believed to be the victim of an assault early Sunday morning.

"Detectives seek the public's assistance in identifying and locating two individuals who played a significant role in aiding the victim," police said in a release. "These good Samaritans are crucial to our investigation. Our detectives are conducting a thorough investigation into this incident."

Between 4 and 5 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a distress call to assist a female. Based on the department's findings, one of the "good samaritans" was a female who assisted the victim in the vicinity of Downtown Chandler by helping her across a street.

The second helper was driving a silver or light-colored single-cab pickup truck and assisted in getting the victim home.

"We urge anyone with information regarding these individuals or the incident to come forward," police wrote. "We commend these two good Samaritans for their compassion and for helping someone in need. Their help is vital to ensuring justice and providing detectives with necessary assistance in furthering this investigation."

Anyone with information should call Detective Ashley Nolan at 480-782-4479.
