There are three candidates running for Arizona’s Second Congressional District in 2024. There are two Republicans and one Democrat in the race.

Eli Crane

Crane — a Republican — lists the economy, education, energy, health and veterans among the issues that are important to him, according to the candidate’s website.
Crane is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and “participated in five wartime” deployments in his 13 years in military service, his website stated.
“In 2012, Rep. Crane and his wife, Jen co-founded a veteran-owned and operated small business that manufactures bottle openers made from shell casings,” his website stated. “A venture that started in their garage, the business eventually grew to employ dozens and led to a successfully negotiated deal.”

Jack Smith

Smith — a Republican — lists securing the border, defending constitutional rights and reducing the size and cost of the federal government among the issues he wants to tackle in his campaign, according to his website.
“Like you, I live and work in rural Arizona and have deep roots here,” his website stated. “I was elected to serve on the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors in 2012. In 2019, I was appointed by President Trump to serve as the USDA State Director of Rural Development in Arizona. I’m running for Congress because, more than ever, we need a real conservative for rural Arizona. We need a conservative who understands rural Arizona and is willing to fight for rural Arizona.”

Jonathan Nez

Nez — former president of the Navajo Nation — is a Democrat who “secured funds to construct new health care facilities and homes for veterans, invested in public safety and hired new police officers, and bolstered infrastructure, improving rural roads and bringing clean water and electricity to thousands” of previously unserved residents, according to his website.
Issues include: creating jobs, cutting high gas and food costs, supporting Arizona veterans and protecting the right to choose, his website stated.
