The deadline is approaching for residents and businesses to register to participate in the 10th Annual Hometown Christmas Parade in Historic Downtown Glendale.
Decorate your vehicle or a flatbed trailer, march in costume or get creative with wagons, golf carts and more. It’s also a great way to promote a business or organization.
Last year parade organizers donated tens of thousands of dollars and pounds of food to Hope for Hunger Food Bank, which is located at 5605. N. 55th Ave., in Glendale.
The food bank provides emergency food along with case management and job assistance to more than 300 Glendale families every day. The goal of the parade is for an even larger donation this year, so spectators are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to the parade or make a cash donation online at www.hcparade.org/food-drive.
Parade participation registration deadline is Wednesday, Nov. 29. Visit hcparade.org/parade-entry.
The parade starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 downtown between 52nd Avenue and 58th Avenue.
Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers on Monday announced that 3TV News’ Jaime Cerreta will serve as Grand Marshal for this year’s parade.
