Scottsdale resident named to One Step Beyond board of directors

One Step Beyond, a nonprofit provider of comprehensive programming and services for adults with intellectual disabilities, announced Scottsdale resident James Tonkin has been appointed to the organization’s board of directors.
He will serve a three-year term.
“One Step Beyond board members are passionate advocates who work tirelessly to support our mission,” One Step Beyond CEO Madison Blanton said in a press release. “Jim’s experience will be a valuable asset to our work and will help us advance our vision of a world where individuals who have intellectual disabilities are fully included in all areas of the community and are recognized for their potential, talents and contributions to society.”
Tonkin has more than 47 years of brand and marketing development experience. Currently serving as the founder and president of Healthy Brand Builders, Tonkin directs the building and design of national infrastructures for clients in the food and beverage industry. He has successfully created and implemented business and financial strategies for domestic and international clients focusing on production, branding, marketing, sales implementation, distribution and exit strategy.
Tonkin is chairman of the board for IMMORDL and serves as a board advisor for the following companies: Element Nutrition Company, Swirlit, Tohi Ventures, and Vitamin Angels.
Tonkin received his bachelor of science degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Oregon.
