Tempe Vice Mayor elected chair of Valley Metro Rail Board

On Aug. 18, the Valley Metro Rail Board elected Tempe Vice Mayor Jennifer Adams as Chair for the upcoming fiscal year.
The officers who will serve on the Valley Metro Rail Board through June 30, 2023, are:
Chair – Tempe Vice Mayor Jennifer Adams
Vice Chair – Phoenix Vice Mayor Laura Pastor
The Board sets policy direction for the Valley Metro Rail and Streetcar systems, seeking to provide high-quality, cost-effective service to the region and its communities.
The Valley Metro Rail plans, constructs, operates and maintains light rail and high-capacity systems in the greater Phoenix area. The Board is comprised of elected officials from four member cities who provide policy direction for rail service.
Adams and Pastor are joined on the Board by Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke and Mesa Councilmember Francisco Heredia.
