Valley Metro is hosting a job fair in Glendale.
Hundreds of positions are available from bus and light rail operators to mechanics and technicians to cleaners and landscapers. These positions come with competitive pay and many include sign-on bonuses.
In addition to careers and on-the-job training, candidates will also enjoy access to healthcare, PTO/vacation and 401k/retirement.
The Glendale event takes place 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Glendale Civic Center, 5750 W. Glenn Drive.
Valley Metro, city of Phoenix and its contractors are seeking applicants for the following:
Bus, light rail and paratransit operators
Bus and rail vehicle mechanics, technicians and inspectors
Security and fare inspectors
Cleaners and landscapers
Job seekers are encouraged to bring their resumes. Many employers are prepared to make preliminary offers on site.
Riders travel across the Valley on eco-friendly public transit including bus, light rail, paratransit, and now, streetcar. In May of this year, Valley Metro opened streetcar in Tempe, which features the transit system’s first off-wire operations.
Progress continues on five high-capacity transit extensions that are either in planning or under construction to create a 50-mile rail system by 2030.
